About our Community Association

The community association DOMOV – DÚHA (“Asylum-Rainbow”) has been founded with the aim to aid children and mothers with children in crisis situations.
The appointments in the association’s bodies, as well as the membership are honorary. No remuneration is or can be rendered for the performance of the appointment. All activities of the association’s bodies are carried out free of charge.
The community association DOMOV – DÚHA is a non-profit organisation founded on the 9th of September 2004 by means of its registration with the Ministry of Interior of the Slovak Republic (under the No. VVS/1 – 900/90 – 23419).
Its foundation and the subsequent establishment of the crisis centre were initiated by the Children’s Help Line of the Slovak Committee for UNICEF as a need resulting from the work of distance councillors in the ambulant crisis centre and the centre for socio-legal aid. Often have workers of the help line stepped out of their anonymity and helped resolving a crisis situation of a child or a mother with child in field. The capacity of the already existing organisations being insufficient, the idea of establishing an own crisis centre originated.
